Ingredients

  • 1 box (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 package guava paste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2Thaw the puff pastry according to the package instructions.
  3. 3Unfold a pastry sheet and cut into squares.
  4. 4Whisk the egg with a splash of water, then brush it over the top of each square.
  5. 5Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the squares on top. Bake until puffy and golden brown, about 10–15 minutes.
  6. 6Remove from the oven and let cool.
  7. 7In a small pot, add the guava paste and the butter. Heat until melted, mixing well, then let cool slightly before transferring to a piping bag.
  8. 8Once cool enough to handle, cut a small hole in each puffed pastry and pipe the guava paste inside.
  9. 9Once all are filled, sift powdered sugar over the top of each one and enjoy the flakiest dessert you could ask for.
